We are Fed To Wolves (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and we operate www.fedtowolvesleather.com (the “Site”) for the purpose of creating and selling bespoke and ready-made handcrafted leather goods (the “Service”) to users (“users”, “you”, and “your”) of the Site or Service, be they customers or any, and all, other individuals who visit the Site. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, retain, safeguard, share and/or disclose your personal information when you visit, and/or make a purchase from, the Site, use our Service, or otherwise communicate with us.

1. THE INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
In order for us to deliver an online shopping experience and provide our bespoke service to you, we need to collect and use certain personal information. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the term “personal information” refers to information that identifies, is associated with, relates to, and/or describes you. What personal information of yours we collect, and how we use it, depends on your interaction with the Site and the Service, as detailed below. Please note, that certain features of the Site, or Service, might require certain specific personal information in order to function – it is your right to choose whether or not to provide this information, but your choices may limit, or prohibit, your access to, and/or use of, those features.
- Order placement and fulfillment:
In order to sell, and ship, the items you purchase via our online store, we collect the following personal information: During the order placement process we collect your name, shipping address, email address, and phone number. During order fulfillment we collect information about your order, specifically the details about the items you place in your cart and the items that you eventually purchase. When you use our bespoke Service, for order placement and fulfillment, we will use the same personal information listed above to notify you regarding quotes, confirm your order with an invoice, and arrange for the shipping of your purchased item. We do not collect sensitive details about your payment information (e.g. credit card or payment accounts), as all payments are processed through third-party payment gateway services. - Communication with you:
In order to best serve you with our customer support, we will use and/or collect your name, email address, and any content (written, reference, or otherwise) that you have included in your communications to us, in order to correspond with you. Communications via email can include our responses to your inquires and support requests, quotes for bespoke items, and/or order fulfillment, update, and shipping notifications. With your consent, we may use your email to send you marketing messages about promotional offers, advertisements for new products, or other Site or Service updates. - Shared information with service providers:
We use third-party service providers to host our online store, process payments, ship orders, correspond via email, and for website security. Your personal information that is exchanged between us and said third parties is limited to the information (e.g., your name, shipping address, email address, and phone number) that is strictly necessary for us, or them, to perform specific services on your behalf. Further, and more comprehensive, details about our third-party service providers and your privacy is provided in its own section below. - Record keeping:
For business accounting and analytics, tax reporting, and customer service purposes, we retain basic personal information about orders that you have placed. As per the requirement of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, all records that pertain to transactions involving sales or use tax liability must be kept for four years. In compliance with this requirement, we are obligated to keep our customer invoices, and by default the information listed within them, for four years. - Security:
We use your personal information, specifically your IP address, to screen, detect, and/or investigate potential risks of illegal, malicious, or fraudulent activity. If we deem it necessary, we may use your personal information to enforce our terms of service, in case their breach, and to protect and defend our rights, our Service, and the rights of our users or others. - Compliance with legal requirements and disclosure of information:
We may be required by law, or through mandatory legal obligations, to disclose your personal information (e.g., following a request by a public authority, court, government agency, subpoena, search warrant, or other valid legal request). - Company business transactions:
In the case of business transaction, such as a sale, transfer, merger, or acquisition of all, or a portion, of our assets, or in the event of a bankruptcy, your personal information may be transferred as a part of that transaction.
At Fed To Wolves, we do not disclose sensitive personal information for the purposes of inferring characteristics about you.
At Fed To Wolves, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information for the purpose of engaging in advertising or marketing activities nor for monetization or revenue generation.
European residents: Please note, if you are a European resident, we process your information so that we may fulfill our contracts with you (e.g., an order you have placed through the Site) or in the pursuit of our legitimate business interests (listed above); and, that your information may be transferred, stored, and processed out of Europe, in the United States, by us and our third-party service providers. When we transfer your personal information, we rely on the relevant, and recognized, transfer mechanisms and contracts issued by the EU, UK, and countries that have been shown to have the necessary level of security.
2. THIRD PARTY SERVICES WE USE: ONLINE STORE PLATFORM, PAYMENT GATEWAYS/PROCESSORS, AND SHIPPING SERVICES, EMAIL PROVIDERS, SECURITY, AND ANALYTICS
We use third party service providers that collect your personal information on our behalf, and share that information with us so that we may initiate, fulfill, and conclude our business with you. These third parties include:
- An online store platform that structures our store catalogue, cart, and check-out, and records information about our sales.
- Payment gateways that collect payment information (e.g., bank account, credit or debit card information, billing address) and process your payment, so that we can fulfill your orders.
- Shipping services collect mailing addresses, and/or email addresses and phone numbers, so that we can ship your orders to you.
- Email providers, so that we can communicate with you.
- Internet security and website analytic services
Any information we obtain from third parties will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The third-party providers we use will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to provide their specific services. We are not responsible or liable for the accuracy of the information provided to us by third parties.
Our third-party service providers each have their own privacy policies that define how they use your personal information. As such, we recommend that you read their respective privacy policies in order to understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in, or have facilities that are located in, a different jurisdiction than either you or us. In that case, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party provider, then your personal information may become subject to the privacy laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

I. Online Store Platform: WooCommerce
WooCommerce hosts our online store, provides us with our online e-commerce platform, and enables the sale of our products and services to you. How we use your personal information in relation to WooCommerce is detailed below:
Shop Catalogue Pages: We use WooCommerce shop pages to provide our customers with our catalogue. Temporary WooCommerce cookies are used to move selected items to the cart and checkout pages. Specific information about the cookies used on our website is provided in the Cookies section immediately below.
Record-Keeping and Analysis: We use WooCommerce for record keeping and business analysis. However, because we do not offer the creation of customer accounts, our WooCommerce records do not store personal data.
Payment Gateway Integration: We use WooCommerce payment integrations to connect our online store to the Stripe and PayPal payment gateways which enable our customers to complete their purchases. Payment information, when entered into the WooCommerce form fields on our checkout page, is securely sent to the payment gateways in a way that our online store will never store or capture sensitive customer payment data. Please read the next section below for further details regarding Stripe and PayPal.

II. Payment Gateways/Processors: Stripe and PayPal
We offer Stripe and PayPal, via WooCommerce’s integration, to our customers as payment gateways and payment processors.
When a customer initiates the checkout process, WooCommerce redirects them to a secure page hosted by Stripe, or PayPal, to complete their payment. WooCommerce sends Stripe, or PayPal, the necessary data to process the payment, including billing and shipping addresses, billing phone number, billing email, order details for invoicing, and the purchase total.
Upon processing your payment, Stripe and PayPal allow us to store information about our customers including name, address, email, phone number. Payment details, such as the items ordered, the amount paid, and optional customer comments will also be made available for us to see and save. We use this information for communication and to ship your order. We save this information in the form of an invoice for accounting and tax purposes. Data and information contained within invoices is only disclosed for tax audit purposes or if we are legally obligated to disclose it.
Stripe and PayPal do not share a customer’s full credit card number, or other sensitive financial details, with us. As such, we never store any customer financial information on our website. Instead, we are provided with a description of the payment method (e.g. PayPal, credit card), a unique token identifier, and partial card information, in the form of the last 4 digits of a card number. We use this information, when necessary, to verify the card and prevent fraud.
Stripe and PayPal may collect personal data including via cookies and similar technologies. The personal data they collect may include transactional data and identifying information about devices that connect to its services. Stripe and PayPal use this information to operate their respective service, and for the purposes fraud detection, loss prevention, authentication, and analytics related to the performance of its service.

III. Shipping Services: USPS, FedEx, and DHL
If you live in the US, we use the United States Postal Service to ship your orders to you. If you live outside the US, we use either USPS, FedEx, or DHL to ship your orders to you.
We do not save customers’ addresses within our online accounts with USPS, FedEx, or DHL; but we do save shipping invoices, which may contain customers’ names and addresses, for accounting and tax purposes. Data and information contained within shipping invoices is only disclosed for tax audit purposes or if we are legally obligated to disclose it.

IV. Email Services
At Fed To Wolves, customer service is a priority and we use email to communicate with our customers regarding their orders, bespoke customization requests, shipping updates, and to respond to any questions or comments. If email communication is used for marketing or promotional purposes, it is only after clear and informed consent has been given to us by the recipient. We do not share email addresses with, nor collect email addresses from, third parties.
Our website uses fillable forms, created by a third party, and SMTP mail servers, hosted by a third party, as a way for our website visitors to contact us. The form data is not hosted, processed, stored, or shared with any third-parties, and our SMTP server does not track, collect, store, or share user data. The form data is also not logged or stored on our website, instead each form entry is forwarded to our company email account server, where it is retained as email correspondence.
Email communications that are not form entries are also retained as email correspondence.
Email communications, including form entry emails, contain the form data: names, emails, and message content. The length of time we retain email correspondence is dependent upon its category: correspondence relating to orders is kept for four years for record-keeping and tax purposes; basic business inquiries are kept for one year; and legal correspondence is kept indefinitely. Information within the email correspondence that we retain is only disclosed for tax auditing purposes or if we are legally obligated to disclose it.
V. Web Security: Wordfence and hCaptcha
We use Wordfence for our website security and firewall. In order to detect and prevent malicious activity, Wordfence collects the following data from our site visitors: IP addresses, login attempts, and traffic patterns. When an IP is determined to be malicious, it is added to Wordfence’s IP blocklist of malicious IP addresses, which is updated regularly. At Fed To Wolves, we do not log or store any information that Wordfence collects.

We use hCaptcha at the end of our contact forms to prevent malicious activity from automated bots. hCaptcha image tests do not retain personally identifiable information and allow users to opt out of having their data used for machine-learning purposes.

VI. Website Analytics: Independent Analytics
We use Independent Analytics as an analytic tool for traffic on our website. The information that it collects, which does not use personally identifiable information includes: website traffic, user behavior, and performance metrics (including views, visitors, sessions, bounce rate, and geographic data). Independent Analytics is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant, does not use cookies to track our users, and never shares its data with third-party servers.

We are not liable, nor responsible, for third-party privacy practices and terms, and we cannot guarantee their security, reliability, accuracy, or completeness.
5. YOUR USER-GENERATED CONTENT
Our Site may enable you to post reviews and/or upload images (“User-generated Content”) of the products you have purchased from us. If you choose to submit User-generated Content, this content may be displayed on the Site, making it public and accessible by anyone.
At most, we will only display your first name, and initial of your last name, in connection with your User-generated Content. If you upload images to the website, you should take care to only upload those images that do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS) which can be downloaded and extracted.
As your User-generated Content will be public, we cannot control which parties will access it, nor if those parties will respect your privacy and/or security of your User-generated Content. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of any information that you make publicly available, nor the for the accuracy, use, or misuse of any information that you disclose to, or receive, from the public or from third parties.
6. SECURITY AND RETENTION OF YOUR DATA
While it is not possible to guarantee a 100% secure, and error-free, method of transmission over the Internet or via email, we will take what precautions we can to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, alternation, destruction, or malicious access or disclosure. We will follow secure socket layer technology (SSL) in addition to any other measures necessary per industry standards. If you send us any confidential information, we ask that you use secured channels to communicate. We will never ask for any credit card information from you over the phone or through an email.
Our retention of your data is dependent on its category: Order information is kept for our records for bookkeeping and tax purposes for four years, unless you request that it be deleted. Other information may be retained for us to maintain the Site and provide the Service, for customer service, dispute resolution, or legal compliance, or to enforce our terms and conditions. If you leave a review, and/or associated media, they and their metadata are retained indefinitely unless you request they be deleted.
7. YOUR CONSENT
When you visit the Site, select your Cookie preferences, place an order for a product or the Service, communicate with us, or submit any User-Generated Content and, in doing so, provide us with your personal information, it is with your implied consent that we collect, use, or share that information for that respective and specific reason, only.
